EMV 3-D Secure · Core specification 2.3.1.1

Sources and review methodology

This reference is maintained by Matt Berryman. It is an independent tool for navigating EMV 3-D Secure specifications, not an official EMVCo publication or a certification service.

How the reference is produced

  1. Pin source PDFs by document identity and SHA-256 fingerprint.
  2. Extract table cells and reconstruct logical rows, retaining source pages.
  3. Apply explicit corrections with source preconditions and review status.
  4. Generate the explorer dataset, downloadable exports and these reference pages from the same publication.
  5. Check selected reviewed facts and publication reproducibility.

What review status means

Carried-forward curation is preserved material, not newly verified content. Source locations let readers check field definitions against the PDF. The reviewed benchmark covers selected facts and does not establish a complete accuracy percentage.

FAQ and historical coverage

Selected requirement qualifications reviewed; not a complete FAQ amendment audit.

Qualifications retain their applicable version, context and FAQ source. Introduction tags do not reconstruct every older specification. Document comparison and field-introduction filtering answer different questions; use the comparison guide to choose the appropriate view.

Using and checking a result

Read the field’s source location, conditional text and scoped qualifications together. Set transaction context in the explorer before interpreting requirement counts. Directory Server programme rules may add requirements. When reporting a discrepancy, include the field name, document version, page, transaction context and the wording that differs.
